Last night began my favorite kickoff to the Holiday Season – the Denver Flea! What is the Denver Flea, you ask? It’s billed as ‘A curated showcase of Colorado makers, cocktails, and craft beer in a seasonal pop-up location’ – and this year’s Holiday Flea is taking place in the old Sports Castle on 10th and Broadway in downtown Denver. You can check out 200+ vendors on multiple floors and find unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your shopping list. HURRY, though, as there’s only one more day to check it out! Here is a quick glimpse of what to expect…
The full list of vendors can be found right here. We had so much fun chatting with all the artists and makers! The food was pretty fab, too. We pigged out on these Piggy Fries from one of the yummy food trucks outside. Sadly I cannot remember the name of it! Check them all out, though! And get you some Piggy Fries.
We found SO many really cool products and art pieces and tasty treats. Our heads were sort of spinning! That might have been a side effect of the generously poured cocktails, though. Everyone seemed to be so chill, so happy, so pleased to be spending a night among cool people in Denver, supporting small businesses. And here’s something kind of crazy that turned out to be pretty amazing… Ben & Jerry’s has paired with New Belgium Brewery, maker of Fat Tire and other delicious beers, to create Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ale, which makes a pretty bomb-ass float when combined with Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked ice cream. I wouldn’t have ever thought to make a float with beer, but this was REALLY good!
To sum things up…the Holiday Flea lasts just one more day in Denver, so go hit it tomorrow, December 4th, from 10 am to 5 pm at the Sports Castle at 10th and Broadway. Parking is miserable, so plan to take a Lyft or Uber. And if you can’t make it down there tomorrow, fear not. The Denver Flea happens about four times a year! Definitely check out their website at www.denverflea.com and sign up for their mail list at the bottom of the page to find out all about the next one. (I will meet you there!)
