Special thanks to Ellison for providing some of the products used in this post.
My kids love making little teacher gifts, and these bookmarks make such a thoughtful present. They made a whole stack of them for the librarian at their school. This practically foolproof project is easy for crafty kids. My girls are comfortable using a sewing machine, but you could omit the sewing portion of this project and it would still be perfectly cute.
Here’s what you need:
- Cardstock in your choice of colors
- Yarn, twine, or ribbon
- Scrapbooking chipboard die-cut shapes
- Sizzix Bigz Die – Bookmark, Plain
- Ellison Superstar
- Sewing machine (optional)
Cut out bookmarks in various colors of cardstock. Use a zig-zag stitch to sew chipboard shapes to bookmarks. If sewing is not your thang, use a tape runner or your favorite adhesive instead. Add a loop of yarn, ribbon, or twine.
Make lots and lots of them! These would also make funky gift tags.
I have to keep the gnome, I think. He’s my favorite!
