Colorado is the most gorgeous place all year long, but it’s especially beautiful in the fall! Last weekend, we spent an entire day completely immersed in the fall scenery of Anderson Farms up in Erie. Anderson Farms Fall Festival is a fantastic autumn event for families, featuring Colorado’s longest running corn maze, pumpkin launching, barrel train rides, pedal karts, delicious food, a fabulous gift shop, and MILES of pumpkins you can pick yourself.
We spent the day with my good friend Laura Kelly and her family. Here are all of our kids, ready for a day of fun!
The first thing the kids headed for was the Barnyard 500 pedal karts! I couldn’t stop laughing watching the kids race around and around on these funny little cars. Can I get one of these for the kids on my street?
Next, we headed over to the corn maze! This was so much fun, although I’ll admit I was a little nervous heading in! We eventually let the kids head off on their own while we found a shady spot to sit and relax.
After we made our way out of the corn maze and back to civilization, we climbed aboard a big wagon and rode out to the pumpkin fields behind an antique tractor. We all had so much fun picking our own pumpkins right off the vine!
My family had such a lovely time at Anderson Farms! They’ve packed so many activities and entertainment into this place, it’s almost hard to do everything in a day. Everyone we talked to seemed to really enjoy being there, too. I had a great conversation with one of the ladies at the farm who has been there since the very beginning. She told me lots of stuff about the history of the farm and what the owners do during the rest of the year. Suffice it to say that running Anderson Farms is a labor of love that has spanned generations – these folks really love what they do! Here are a few more pictures of our lovely day.
I am so glad we made the trip up to Erie to check this place out! It’s only about a 40 minute drive from Denver, and the gorgeous mountain backdrop makes the trip so worth it. Get your kids in the car and head up to Anderson Farms while the Fall Festival is still going on!
