I love being part of silly creative things that really serve no purpose other than to connect people and have fun. Last year, I participated in Laura Kelly’s Popcorn Box Bloghop that she does every year, and made a Minecraft Creeper Popcorn Box out of paint chips. It turned out so cute! This year, I’m doing the Popcorn Box Bloghop again, but I decided to go a totally different route. Instead of embellishing my popcorn box and filling it up with popcorn, I decided to decorate it with fabric and fill it up with flowers!
I have exactly zero step-out photos of this process, because like most of my crafty endeavors, it happened after midnight when my house was finally quiet and my kids were all sleeping. I used Aleene’s Tacky Glue and a rockabilly-esque bandana. I got jiggy with the scissors. And I added a flower made from Kunin felt and one of Laura Kelly’s branded buttons. The flowers are placed in a pint glass I probably drank a beer out of earlier in the day. I think after the flowers die, I’m going to use this to hold paintbrushes on my desk. Cuteness!
In person, I think this is so cute, but the more I look at this picture, the more I think the flower looks like a Minion eyeball! Now that would be a cute popcorn box – Minions! Maybe you should make one!
Check out the other fun and funky popcorn boxes that are all part of the Popcorn Box Bloghop! The candy corn owl is my favorite. Because candy corn. And owls.
