Recently we had a chance to sample brand new Quaker Breakfast Shakes. The only thing I like to drink in the morning is coffee, so I passed this along to my hubby, who was more than happy to oblige! He’s got a looooong morning commute, and quick breakfasts are a must.
This is a shelf-stable product, but I would certainly recommend refrigerating it for the best taste and flavor. It comes in the standard three flavors, chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Hubby tried the chocolate and the strawberry and enjoyed both! Usually he’s not a fan of strawberry flavored stuff, so I was surprised. In fact, he even said a pomegranate blueberry flavor would be really tasty.
The shakes are 200 calories and have 10g of protein, 8g of whole grains, and 6g of fiber. Pauly’s a big dude and it takes a lot to fill him up – I would expect to give him something like this along with a banana at least for him to make it until lunch time. Surprisingly, he said he felt pretty full all morning long just from the shake. So, there you have it. I probably wouldn’t have purchased these on my own without sampling them first, because I remember those bottled chalky weight loss shakes from my college days. These are not like that at all. Pretty tasty, actually!
