Bedroom Redo is Happening! #disneypaintmom

Raise your hand if you LOVE painting rooms. Show of hands? I am sitting on mine. I hate painting! But I LOVE the results of our hard work. I always marvel at the way a fresh coat of paint instantly transforms the whole look of a room. And my littlest twins are next on the list for a room re-do. They’ve wanted new paint for the whole four years we’ve lived in this home, but life just gets away from us. But no more. The girls are getting their room painted for springtime!

We headed over to Walmart to check out their brand new line of Disney paints, made by Glidden. This new premium-quality line of paint is ultra-durable, formulated to withstand wear and tear and repeated scrubs and washes. Scuffs, crayon and pencil marks, little finger prints, and tough stains, such as grape juice, wash off easily without removing the magical color. We’ll see how it does on marker, since that seems to be the weapon of choice in my little girls’ arsenal of bedroom destruction. Disney Paint is also low odor and has no VOCs, which is extra important when painting kids’ rooms!

Disney paints also include five super cool specialty finishes that go over the finished paint for some amazing effects. I had soooo many Pinteresting ideas running through my mind while perusing these paints! Chalkboard cupboard doors? Confetti finish nightstand drawers? Yes, please. So cool. Here are the finishes that are available:

  • All That Glitters: A clear, ready-to-use top coat that provides a shimmering glitter finish that
can be applied over any painted surface.
  • Speck-Tacular: A clear, ready-to-use topcoat that provides a sparkling confetti finish that
can be applied over any painted surface.
  • Magnificent Metallic: A metallic paint, tintable to 24 unique colors.
  • Great Slate: A paint that turns any surface into a chalkboard. Available in ready-to-use black
or tintable to a variety of colors.
  • Ready, Set, Glow!: A translucent yellow, ready-to-use paint that allows any surface to glow
    in the dark.

My little girls are set on the Ready, Set, Glow! finish, and I’m not at all surprised, with DJ Pauly Paul as their dad, they’d love to turn their bedroom into a dance club. We’ll see how crazy we end up getting.

Stay tuned, because as soon as those monkeys get their room cleaned up, Daddy is moving the furniture out so I can paint! Wish me luck!

This is cool! I’ve been looking for glow paint forever, and last time had to settle for craft paint. This is going to be great for the headboard project I’ve got going on. Thanks!

Isn’t it cool? My girlfriend, years ago, used that glow-in-the-dark craft paint to make the coolest city-scape scene in her daughter’s room. I actually thought about stealing her idea.

  2. Cindy says:

Well, exciting!!! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
